Glove box.
Lined the inside of the glove box with stick-on felt sheets.

Here's how I made the custom glove box.

Here's the glove box riveted to the panel and the rivets filled with putty.
Two small rivets hold the box closed-one in the front and one in the back.
I wanted to install the transponder to check the stiffness of the panel. It is plenty strong with the aluminum angle bracket I riveted to the back of the panel.

The door is on to check fit. It is slightly crooked in this pic but when the hinge pin is pushed all the way in, it is perfectly straight with an even gap all the way around.

It's a little blurry, but here's a pic of the door with the pin all the way in. There will be a magnetic latch on the inside that keeps the door perfectly even with the front of the panel, but I won't install it until after the panel is painted.
Since the door is aluminum, I bonded a small steel plate to the back of the door for the magnetic latch. I owe a lot of thanks to Steve Adamczak for using a $50,000 CNC machine to make a perfect door and for supplying the small steel plate. This glove box with a flush door and no visible rivets is going to be a really nice feature on this airplane!
