Finally some progress! I was able to rivet the wingtip box together today.
Here is the completed wingtip.
You can see the flush rivets on the left and the 'regular' rivets on the left.
Here's the tools I needed to do the above steps. Look closely as these
are not regular vise grips. The tool has dimpling ends welded on which
you may have guessed are used to dimple the aluminum.
The tool on the left is used to counter sink the spar. I ordered both from
Avery tools at www.averytools.com
Here's the part numbers you will need to order:
#552 for the vise grips.
#19360 for the micro stop countersink cage
#1052 for the #30 x 3/8 Diameter countersink cutter
I even started to get the front wrap on and clecoed but now I realized
that I will need a different tool to dimple the holes in the top wrap.
The vise-grip pliers won't be able to reach the holes.
