Here I have started building the ribs.
As you can see from the space between the workbench and the rib, the ribs are bowed (and that's normal as they are pressed aluminum).
Here is a rib that has been straightened with the fluting pliers. The ribs are very easy to straighten and only take a few minutes each. Make sure they are straight!
Each rib is built from a forward rib and aft rib. Be sure to de-burr all the holes too. These ribs are really nice in that all the holes line up perfectly. Nice job Rans!
The two ribs have been joined and riveted together in the above photo.
These ribs were 'installed' mostly for motivation. Before I can actually rivet them to the spars, I will have to level the saw horses so the spars are aligned properly as described in the manual. It will probably take a few days to build all the ribs.
