There's not too much I can do without the fuselage. One of the beginning steps is to install the rudder pedals. So I thought I could start a real small project and build the rudder pedals.
All of these holes are pilot drilled at the factory and have to be opened up to fit the 1/8" rivet. I drilled out each hole and de-burred them.
Here's a pic of the back of one pedal and the front of another finished pedal. The piece on the back of the pedal is for the brake actuator.
This small end cap is what the rudder bar mounts and rotates in. As is, it won't fit. The powder coating has to be removed from the end of the bar to fit inside the small piece. I stopped here because I don't have any tool to remove the powder coating. Looks like a trip to Home Depot.
