Sanded off the second coat of Super-Fil on the leading edge. I also filled in the aluminum skin on the wingtip box. I'll sand that tomorrow.
I moved the wing outside to sand off the Super-Fil. The process makes a lot of blue dust.
It sure looks like crap but it is smoooooooth!
Here's the trailing edge of the top root skin all finished.
I started to fit the fiberglass today but I am not sure exactly where on the top to trim it. I'll wait until my factory visit on October 1st to see where it gets trimmed at.
After sanding the leading edge of the wing for hours and hours, I got bored and wanted to do seomthing else. So...I used Superflite Reinforcement tape (Item #: SF-REINFTAPE-1) to tape over all the rivets and sharp edges of the tail pieces. All my tail pieces are ready to cover. I think once the sanding is done on the wing I will start covering.
I used the reinforcement tape (and don't use masking tape!) to tape over the ribs too since they have a sharp edge. I cut out the holes where the rivets will go but it may be a waste of time to do this because there's no way I'm going to cut out thousands of holes on the wing ribs!
