This is the trailing edge of the top root skin. Yesterday I used Super-Fil to putty the leading edge of the wing by slapping it on and spreading it around. Now I'm left with a lot to sand off.

Today, I learned a better way to do this. First, put a piece of tape on the top of the wing, and another about an inch or so aft of the aluminum wrap.

Then spread the Super-Fil. Next, while the putty is still wet, remove the tape! You are left with a nice clean line and very little to sand off.
I riveted the bottom root skin in place and used JB Weld to bond the leading edge.

NOTE: You can use either JB Weld or DP-460 to bond the wraps. DP-460 is about 10 times as expensive as JB Weld but it comes in a handy double tube with a plunger that automatically mixes the correct ratio. It has a tube on the front that leaves a nice bead of glue.

I used DP-460 for the leading edge wraps (because it is a large area) and JB Weld for the root skins. The root skins use very little JB Weld and it's easy to mix a small quantity in a tuna can.
