I drew the size of the access door on the cowl and then covered it with clear packing tape.
Once this is dry, I will peel it off, cut out the door, then trace it on the cowl for the opening.

Im' making my own oil access door because the one supplied by RANS is a
flat piece of aluminum that is suppose to close against a curved cowl.

Next I laid up three layers of 8oz. cloth followed by one layer of
3/4oz. The 3/4oz. cloth is just to give the outside of the door a smooth
surface. Once this is dry, I will peel it off, cut out the door, then trace it on the cowl for the opening. |
