Well this is my first attempt at making a fiberglass fairing.
This was a mess to make!
Once it's dry I'll pop it off and see what it looks like.
Here is the fairing. This was a good practice one. I watched the Sam James fiberglass video again and learned some better techniques for working the clay so I'm going to make this one again. This didn't come out too bad but I think I can make it smoother by doing it again with Plasticine clay instead of the stiff oil based clay that I used. The video also showed some better ways to lay down the fiberglass cloth to get nice lines.

This was actually kind of fun to make. This one here is made from three layers of 5 oz cloth which is fine but next time I might use one layer of 8 oz cloth and then two layers of 5 oz just to make it a little stronger.

Once it's done, I will cut the fairing in half and fiberglass the two halves to the front and rear half of the wheel pant, fill the seem with putty, then sand it smooth. I want it to look like this one...
