Man I could barely sleep last night! You'd think it was the night before Christmas. Remember those days? When kids get all excited about opening gifts that they can barely sleep...they are out of bed on Christmas morning at 5:00am! Well today I got out of bed and immediately went out to the garage. Today was the day I got to take the wax paper, wood, and clamps off the wing and see how it looked. This wing is well on it's way to being called...D O N E !

The next step for this wing is to flip it over and bond the lower root skin. I'm going home to PA for a few days so that will have to wait until Tuesday.

Looking from root to tip.
Here's looking from tip to root.
I've also fit the close out rib and drilled the holes on the forward part of Rib #1.

NOTE: The manual states to rivet this closeout rib to rib #1. A little forward thinking tells me this is a bad idea. If I ever need to get into this wing to change fuel lines, then all those rivets will have to be drilled out.

Since this rib is a facade and not structural, use sheet metal screws to hold it on. This makes for very easy removal and installation.

Speaking of fuel line, I'm using high quality black fuel tubing from Good Year. This stuff cost me $5.00 a foot at Advance Auto but should last a lot longer than the blue stuff.

I'll use the good stuff in the wing and the cheaper fuel tubing in the fuselage where it is easy to change.

This is the rear of the root rib where the flap cable exits. Notice the tubing on the flap push rod used to keep it from chaffing on the aluminum.
