I masked off what will be the blue trim on my paint scheme. If you want
to get an idea of how long this took to complete, notice the sun in the
first few pictures and the total darkness in the last few! |
 |
This is my paint scheme. |
 |
This will be the blue swoop
on the tail. |
 |
Masked off the top while I
was at it... |
 |
Each stripe on the fuselage
is 1 1/8th of an inch wide. |
 |
|
 |
Doing one side is
easy...making the other side match was not. After I completed the left
side, I traced it on paper, cut it out, and used the paper as a template
for the other side. They are within 1/16" of each other. |
 |
I had to temporarily attach
my baggage door. To do this, I cut down two countersunk sheet metal
screws and put one screw in each hinge. This assures that the door is
positioned properly but is not permanent as I want to remove the door
for painting. |
 |
This side is done. If you
notice you can see my paper template stuck to the top of the rear
fuselage. |
 |
Perfectly matched. |
 |
The taping is complete.
Tomorrow I will mask off the entire fuselage and spray the navy blue
paint. |
