I've spent the entire last week working full time on all the small pieces. As of today, the flaps, ailerons, and the two horizontal stabs are ready for paint. The two elevators and rudder need one more coat of primer and then they will be ready for paint. The plan is to paint all the small flight control pieces and then move the fuselage into the booth for primer/paint.
Horizontal stabs. They are ready for paint.
Flaps and ailerons. Ready for paint!
Elevators and rudder. These need the second coat of primer yet.
Here's the operation...In the morning I shoot a coat of primer on what ever needs it. Then, while that is drying, I sand the primer on the pieces that I sprayed the day before.

Later the same evening, I'll take what ever I painted in the morning out of the booth, and put in the booth the parts that I sanded that day.

Then, I'll shoot the last coat of primer on those parts. This makes the whole process really efficient.

...sanding with soapy water. Notice the little bits of red speed tape? I cut the little squares of tape and tape over any open holes. This helps to keep out the water.
