I've started working on the aluminum tailcone while I'm waiting for the fuselage paint to cure.
First I cut and installed the doublers that go in the top and bottom (for
taildragger only) tubes. Then, I riveted on the nutplates that the
horizontal stab hinges will bolt to.
Next I drilled out the holes to the proper size and de-burred all of them.
Finally, I installed, with one rivet, the angle brackets shown above. The next step is to slide the longerons onto the fuselage and start clecoeing (is that a word?) together the tailcone. I'll have to wait a few more days though until the fuselage paint is fully cured.
