If you haven't followed my progress on
the RANS CLAN forums, you may not know that after painting the fuselage,
I was not happy with the results. This led me to rip off all the fabric
and start over.
After I ripped the fabric off, I had the steel fuselage sandblasted and then I re-primed it with Superflite epoxy primer. In order to have it sandblasted, I stripped the fuse down to nothing! I even took all the nutplates off...it looked the same as the day I got it. Anyway, it's re-primed and almost ready for covering. I noticed that when the sandblasters came and took my fuselage, they bent and twisted the bottom antenna mount plate. So I took that off and ordered a new one. Here the fuselage is back in the garage and ready for the bottom fabric (after the new antenna mount is added). |

I took off the bottom stringers for the sandblasting. Today I just re-installed them. |
